Design at Work
The Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario (RGD Ontario)
presents Design at Work, a juried exhibit of professional graphic design demonstrating how design creates value for business.
Design is Good for Business
Design at Work 2008 presents 50 exemplary graphic design projects created
in the last two years by juries of marketing executives and design professionals.
The projects have been selected for meeting the clients' goals through the development
of advanced design concepts and implementation of sophisticated communications
vehicles.
Each project is a miniature case study of how design can impact a client's ability to communicate messages to key stakeholders and convey an organization's unique qualities with clarity, consistency, differentiation and energy.
Jury Process
Professional members of RGD Ontario are invited to submit design projects
that meet the following submission criteria:
- Created, conceived or produced between June 27, 2006 and June 27, 2008;
- An R.G.D. or Provisional RGD Member must have been the Creative Director,
Art Director or Principal Designer on the project.
- Self-promotional work is not eligible for consideration. An actual client, whether internal or external, must have been involved.
Projects have be selected from six categories by a jury of marketing and design professional executives. Each jury member has selected one project as his or her "judge's pick" to receive special recognition in the media and at the exhibition. Selections will be made based on the following criteria:
- The project met the client's goals and expectations and had a described,
measurable impact on the client's business performance.
- The project demonstrates originality and creativity through advanced,
unusual or clever solutions, uniqueness of materials, originality of components
and/or creative use of resources.
- The project demonstrates 'good design', through the elegance and sophistication
of core design concepts, the layout and use of space, typography, clever
synergies of visual elements and artistic integration etc.
